Bio

Christmas 1966 I turned 6 years old and for either my birthday or christmas, same thing for me, I was given a bicycle and a plastic camera. Two of my enduring passions were born at that moment.

At age 14 living on a plot outside a small town in Kwa Zulu Natal I decided that I wanted to be a photographer. I have never really wavered on that decision. My bicycle was my transport and my camera was the source of my pocket money.

My other enduring interests are travel, reading, cooking (I am a vegetarian), Buddhism and music. I travelled for 3 years living for periods of time in the Unites States, England and Israel. In 1996 I rode a bicycle from Jerusalem to South Africa. That was a tough life changing experience.

I live in a quiet old Johannesburg suburb with my wife, 2 dogs, a cat and 2 budgies. I still make a living as a photographer. I still love it. I go to work by bicycle.
